Hi, good morning! I wanted to share my morning routine with my teacher friends on here and I hope it inspires some fellow teachers to be more productive in the morning. As many of you might know, I used to not be a morning person. I had to practice waking up in the morning. I’ve definitely gotten better at waking up early now. I wake up around 8:30 am-9 am.
In the morning, it takes awhile for me to wake up. I don’t always wake up right away. Instead, I got on my phone and I check my emails. I usually check my messages too in order to make sure I’m not missing anything. The most important part of my morning is looking at my google calendar. I check my calendar first thing in the morning and right before I leave the house. My calendar tells me which lessons I’m going to be teaching for the day and how to plan my day ahead. I double check because I also have to mentally prepare myself for the day ahead.
After I’ve woken up, I usually shower and get dressed. I pack my bags for the day and I head out the door. Since I’m reliant on my phone and my car for work, I spend some time checking both to make sure we’re okay for the day ahead. If I have impending messages, I make sure I respond to them before I go to my first lesson. There are times when I have to text my students ahead of time before our lesson time. These messages are priority so I am sure to be prepared for it.
Another important part of my routine is making sure I have my morning coffee and a breakfast. I’m a huge stickler for breakfast because I get low blood sugar if I don’t eat first thing in the morning. I’ve found that Dunkin’ Donuts has free coffee if you download their application. I also use the McDonald’s application and the Starbucks application. A huge part of my business is making sure that I’m accumulating points. If you’re not accumulating points from your food purchases, you’re definitely missing out. For a teacher like me, these applications are crucial to have. I will be posting more about which applications are my favorite to use. 😊
After I have breakfast, I’m ready to go for the day. My working hours are long, but I enjoy my job. If you are interested in learning more about teaching, I’ve written many blog posts on here about my teaching job. I hope this is entertaining and I also hope you’ve enjoyed reading my morning routine for teachers!
