I gotta say, there’s nothing better than having a great work bag. It took me awhile to find a bag that actually works for me. And I know that many other people have struggled with the same problem. I find myself feeling so lucky that I invested in a good work bag. You have to splurge on items that you use every day. I use my bag all the time, so you can understand why I needed a sturdy bag.
This is the bag that I bought. It’s handy and the design is pretty. I think that the price was reasonable and there are many benefits to owning this bag. The bag is large enough to fit your laptop in it. It also has a zipper on the top that protects the inner contents of your bag. There are also two straps on the bag that I really like. I use the largest strap when there are a lot of contents in the bag. My students are really funny and they love my bags. I was using a Louis Vuitton bag before, but this bag is much larger than that. I need a large bag like this. I’m always carrying books and my pencil case. 
Inside my bag, I always carry my phone. When you’re a teacher, a phone is essential to have. Parents and students are going to be calling/texting you all the time. You also want to be able to answer phone calls from prospective students. If i’m not carrying my phone everywhere with me, then I feel completely lost when I’m teaching.
Another thing that I carry with me is my planner. If you haven’t checked out my post on what’s in my planner, you can click here! My planner is absolutely essential and I use it everyday. The cost of the planner was actually $10. And since I use it everyday, I feel like I’ve gotten the full use out of it. It’s good to know that my money is being spent well.
As piano teachers, we carry tons of pens and pencils with us. It’s not that we actually need all of them, but we never want to be in a situation where we don’t have one. Right now, as I am writing this blog post, I don’t have a pencil/pen with me. I needed to write information in my schedule and wait list, but I can’t. It’s very frustrating. Therefore, my pencil bag is an absolute must.
Another essential that I carry with me to lessons are my piano books. I carry two books with me all the time: Sight reading by Bastien and A Dozen a Day technical exercises. I’ll include a link to that blog post here. And the pictures of the books here:
